This Private Residence is an exploration in modern design, composed of cool white interiors accented by rich woods and quiet metalwork. The approach begins in the entry with a custom three-inch thick mahogany door, milk glass lights, and a unique architectural stair. The stairway is constructed of solid sapele tread, risers, and nosing; and, is separated from the sheet rock wall with a shadow reveal. A set of custom single pedestal, sand-blasted nickel balusters lighten the two story space and interface with a molded mahogany handrail. The dining area is separated from the living room by a pair of custom designed aluminum and frosted glass pocket doors. The floating sink and water-closet fixtures define the minimal at the powder room. The quartered maple veneer millwork accented by aluminum and glass shelving lend a clean, modern feeling to the larger spaces. As these materials work in tandem, an understated, warm luxury thrives.
